An imposing country estate set in over an hectare of land. The clients want to create a variety of gardens onto this large blank canvas. A rose garden, family garden, entertainment area, a sheltered retreat. The design needed to fulfil all these requirements retaining the rose and lavender steps and encircling stone terrace. The only existing garden elements. All areas needed to be linked seamlessly, allowing all the space to be enjoyed, whilst making the whole nestle into its surrounding countryside comfortably, as if part of the hillside.
Salvaged materials from the original estate are being incorporated into the build to maintain the link to its heritage. The choice of planting will include many native species and specimen trees as a legacy for future generations.
